Erosion Control

When we think of Erosion Control we think about the prevention of soil erosion from an area with bare soil or reduced vegetation.

Trapping of sediment before it enters the sewers, waterways and roadways is always a big concern. Especially in and around environmentally sensitive habitats such as our national forests or coastal wetlands. Also, maintaining the integrity of slopes and areas that support any type of structure is paramount on a job site.

Other services include:

  • sand/gravel bags
  • mulch blowing
  • bonded fiber matrix
  • jute netting
  • silt fence
  • rip rap

and many other erosion control options are available.

Fuller Landscaping has proven methods to help in these situations. Whether it is installing erosion blankets on slopes, hydroseeding or installation of wattles to control sediment flow, our professional qualified experienced crews can do it.

Wattle fencing is a solution that offers a natural barrier to control or direct water flow or to assist other erosion control devices stay in place while germination occurs. Using specially propagated live willow cuttings in this application allows the fence to grow, turning a temporary fence into a permanent erosion control structure. Planting willows or other live branches as a fence offer a natural solution that will allow riparian areas to thrive and control sedimentation flow into stream and creeks.

Silt fencing is one of the most common sediment barriers. It comes in various grades that are designed for different areas being protected, estimated flow rates, and the duration of your project. Wire reinforcement and steel posts can be used in critical areas.

Straw blankets provide temporary ground cover in channels and on slopes while the permanent vegetation germinates and matures. They also provide seed protection, moisture retention, slope protection, and water velocity reduction. These blankets come in different grades to accommodate various lengths, pitches, and water velocities.

Hydroseeding is a very economical method of spraying a wetted mixture of groundcover seeds, mulch, fertilizer, and tackifier on bare hillsides and slopes to hold it in place until the ground cover germinates and matures.

Licensed and insured Fuller Landscaping offers solutions to all of your sediment and erosion control needs.
